The reason the name Living came about is simple. We want to have a respect for everything living (and also recently living, sorry cows and piggies) and strive to bring this to every element of your cafe experience.

Whether it’s the coffee we’ve sourced from Bolivia and rigorously checked to way beyond fair-trade standards, the sausages and bacon that comes from free roaming pigs on a farm only a few miles from us, or the decor which has been coddled together (rather stylishly we think) from antique and vintage pieces (not a plastic chair that will end up in landfill in sight) we hope you agree with us that the future of eating and drinking out is a responsibility we can all enjoy without a hard done by farmer in sight!
Aim...
We aim to recycle everything possible here and after our first few months of being an up and running proper real life business, hope to gain certification of our carbon neutrality. Now isn’t that the sort of place you’d like to give in to your caffeine and chocolate cravings (or healthy super food salads for that matter!)
Experience...
Jamie and Katie have travelled extensively and eaten in restaurants around the world as well as many here in Britain. They are always assessing what makes a restaurant work. The answer is usually the same. Good Food. Good Service. Good Atmosphere. They have designed their restaurant to complement their style and hope they can provide you with the three key elements within that.
Jamie
Jamie has worked in restaurants since the age of 14 for his father who was a caterer like his father before! He has recently taken his chef’s course to improve his understanding of different flavour and technique. Coupled with his experience of managing a busy restaurant as chef for almost 10 years, he hopes his first project on his own will be something that he can be proud of.
Katie
Katie has worked in marketing and packaging and has a great passion for style and design. Katie brings to the business the creation of everything that isn’t in the kitchen! She has enjoyed working front of house for a few years before now embarking on running Living Cafe with the experience she has gained and a smile on her face!
