Here’s some info that may be of interest to you! Even if you don’t mind too much where your food comes from, your body will, and our local suppliers will love you forever!

Meat

All our pig products come from Roundwood Orchard Farm, Kent. Here our friend Beverly looks after the piggies like they are her children! They live right next door to an orchard and so they get to eat lots of lovely fruit all day long (both Beverly and the pigs!). Anyone is welcome to the farm, as Beverley loves showing off her babies. We’ve been and they are great, they come running up to you as happy as a dog to see their owner, and they don’t smell one bit! They take so much pride in how their pigs end up, the bacon and gammon is dry-cured and the sausages are 93% meat minimum.

All our chicken is free range, we don’t like battery farm chickens, it’s just so wrong. Our eggs are free range too, you can have one without the other. It doesn’t really matter which came first, just that they come having had a normal chicken life!

We use prime beef in our burgers and the odd bowl food and ensure that it’s British and has had a good life, soaking up the great outdoors, grazing on lots of lovely grass.

Coffee

After spending time in Bolivia and receiving hospitality from some of the friendliest people this planet has to offer, we were very excited when last year a Bolivian coffee won the most prestigious coffee award for taste. After tasting the coffee that our friends at Coffee Point supply we were over the moon especially as it tasting so good and the fair trade symbol means we are helping the lovely Bolivian Farmers make a better life for us. We like the people at Coffee Point too, they too invest heavily in their customers and produce and they don’t market themselves, instead preferring to thrive on word of mouth, like us. This way their customers just pay for the good produce they receive.

Veggies

We buy all our vegetables from Paynes, just around the corner. Every week we give him our order and off he trots to the market (way, way before you and I wake up) and gets us what we can. Sometimes he can’t get everything, it’s not like Tesco i’m afraid, we treat our suppliers with respect and understand that sometimes you can’t have everything you want all year round, well not if you are committed to supporting local farmers and ensuring that as much of our trade stays here in Britain. The best bit of the week is when the seasonal veg comes in and we make up our hearty bowl food and soup based on what is the freshest and in season at that very moment. This way you can be tasting the produce at its very best and learning a bit about what is in season and when!

Chutneys and relishes

All our chutneys are home-made, and you can really taste it. The difference is they are full of good wholesome produce and not an E number, or preservative in sight!

Bread

If you have tried it, you’ll know that there is no comparison to it. It’s baked overnight and arrives on our doorstep fresh as a daisy. Another Kent supplier I hear you say? Well of course, we say! They are a small supplier using old fashion bread making techniques so when we serve it to you fresh every day-you can really taste every ounce of muscle power which goes into each loaf!

Cakes and treats

Homemade cakes are just the best. And that means proper home-made, not half made somewhere else and then finished on site. Our chef makes a batch every morning, maybe not quite as early as the baker, but early enough to make your eyes water!

Chips

We know everyone says they are naughty, but they are just so lovely, and anyway, as your Gran always said ‘a little bit of what you fancy does you good’! We chip, boil and they fry our chips on site, to order. And we make sure the oil is good and hot, that way they absorb less saturated fat and are lovely and fluffy on the inside.

Fish

Our fish is breaded and battered to order, we even treat the kids fishfingers with this much respect! This was we know that there is 100% prime fillet in every bite and no nasty flavourings or additives. We don’t use fish that aren’t sustainable so if you want a cod dinner, tough luck! But if you want a lovely fish dinner, well you’re in luck!
